Overview

Two tools work together to manage the full planning cycle: the Configurator defines the document structure, and the Review Manager handles content review and action tracking. Both sync to the cloud via DynamoDB.

Cycle Configurator

Configure sections, assign owners and L8s, set due dates, track status, generate Word templates, and auto-generate status trackers.

planner.html
Restricted: 3 admins

Review Manager

Review content per section: write narratives with version history, upload table screenshots, manage action items with $ impact tracking.

Cloud Sync: All data is saved to DynamoDB via the same API used by the action trackers. Changes are available to all users in real time. No data is lost when clearing browser cache.
Access Control: The Configurator is restricted to rmunmuha, nssangin, and lourcamp only. The Review Manager is open to anyone on the Q4G access list.

Add Section

Create a new section with title, owner, L8, level (Major/Subsection/Sub-item), and Header toggle. PhoneTool autocomplete on owner/L8 fields.

Bulk Update

Find and replace owner names across multiple sections at once. Preview affected sections before applying. Optional "Also update L8" checkbox.

Snapshot

Save the current configuration with a version label (e.g. "Pre-Alpha v1"). Stored in cloud. Max 20 snapshots per cycle.

History

View all saved snapshots with timestamps and section counts. Restore any snapshot or delete old ones.

Diff View

Compare current config vs. Q4G baseline. Shows added sections (green), removed (red), and changed (yellow with detail).

Email Owners

Select owners from checkboxes. Filter by "Draft only". Generates a mailto: link with each owner's assigned sections and due dates.

Import

Upload a JSON config or Excel file (.xlsx/.csv). Excel import auto-detects columns and shows a preview before applying.

Generate Template

Download as: JSON (save file), CSV (Excel-friendly), TXT (outline), or DOCX (full Word template with cover page, ownership table, heading hierarchy).

Generate Tracker NEW

Auto-generate a status tracker HTML from the current sections. Pre-populates owners, ETAs, and follow-up mechanisms. See Section 5 for details.

Reset to Q4G Defaults

Restores all 70 sections to the original Q4G configuration.

Clone to New Cycle

Exports clean JSON with statuses, dates, and notes reset. Ready for the next planning cycle.

Manage Comments (Admin) NEW

Opens a modal showing ALL comments across ALL sections, grouped by section name. Each comment has an individual checkbox. "Select All" at the top. Shows comment author, text (truncated), source item (content item or action item), and timestamp. Click "Delete Selected" to remove only the checked comments. Sorts deletions by index (descending) so splice operations don't shift indices. Available in both Planner and Review Manager admin panels.

5

Configurator: Generate Tracker

planner.htmlNEW

Auto-generate a fully functional status tracker from the current Configurator sections. One click creates a deployment-ready HTML.

How it works: Click "Generate Tracker" in the toolbar. The Configurator reads your current sections, owners, L8s, due dates, and statuses, then outputs a standalone HTML tracker with all standard features.

All Sections as Trackable Items

Non-header sections become rows. Section headers become collapsible groups.

Pre-Populated Owners & ETAs

Owner names, L8s, and due dates carry over. EMAIL_MAP is auto-generated from PhoneTool data.

Cloud Sync Ready

Includes API endpoint and a unique DynamoDB key. Just deploy to S3 and create the API route.

All Standard Features

Status cycling, comments, export modal, Email Updates, activity log, hamburger sidebar, admin panel, stats dashboard.

Collapsible Sections

Header sections (e.g. "3. KEY FOCUS AREAS") have chevron arrows (▸/▾). Click to collapse ALL children, including grandchildren. Shows child count like "(8)". Collapsing a L1 header hides all L2 headers and L3 items beneath it. Search overrides collapsed state to show matches.

Scrollable Sidebar

The section navigator scrolls independently within the viewport. The page body stays fixed while the sidebar scrolls through all 70 sections. No more scrolling the entire page to find a section.

Overdue Indicators

Sections with overdue action items show a red dot + count badge (e.g. "🔴 2") next to the section name. Updates automatically when action item due dates or statuses change.

Action Items Summary Stats

New stats bar showing: Total AIs, Not Started, In Progress, Complete, Overdue (red), Total $ Impact. Updates in real time as action items are added, edited, or completed. Sits below the main section stats.

Last Saved + Unsaved Warning: Same cloud sync indicators as the Planner. "Saved 2:45 PM" timestamp, red on failure, and "You have unsaved changes" browser prompt.

Auto-Generated E2E Document

review.htmlNEW

The E2E document assembles itself from content added in the Review Manager. Owners add their narratives, tables, and data to their sections, and the Planner's Generate DOCX fetches this content from DynamoDB to build the complete document. No one manually edits the Word doc.

Content Auto-Population: When "Generate DOCX" is clicked in the Planner, it fetches ALL content from the Review Manager's DynamoDB record. Narratives are inserted as formatted text paragraphs under their section heading. Tables and Data items are embedded as images with "Table:" or "Figure:" captions. "Other" type items are excluded. Sections with no content show gray italic placeholders.
Planner → Review Manager → DOCX: The Planner defines the structure, the Review Manager holds the content, and the DOCX generator merges them. Toast message shows how many content items were pulled (e.g. "Document generated with 15 content items from Review Manager").
